I would really appreciate if someone could design a spiffy new theme for this site. The theme must be WordPress-compatible, and I’d love to keep my little logo and the same fonts if possible, but the whole look just needs a rehash.

If you’re willing to take on this task, please let me know and I will forward you the font and logo. There may even be a little something I can scrounge up from my witchy shelf to forward your way!

In an effort to bring this site back to its former glory, I need your help.

What do you want to see here?
Do you have any articles, essays, interviews, reviews, short stories, etc. that you would like to submit for publication? At this point, I’ll accept anything.
What interests you most about Paganism?
What questions haven’t you seen answered anywhere else, but want answers for?

I need some help and inspiration to lift this site back to its feet.

I think the first thing is something the majority of you already expected, and that is, at least for the foreseeable future, the Geek Witch Podcast will not continue. I physically and emotionally do not have the time or energy to sit down and record episodes. Some people can do it, but I’m not one of them.

The website will remain, and the Podcast’s archive will stay up, but no more episodes will be created. I wish to continue to grow the website and make it a real resource for Pagans everywhere, but to do that (as well as all the other things I’m doing, which I’ll talk about in a second) as well as record a show takes a lot of time that I just don’t have.

I continue to work 38-hour weeks, as well as make time for my family. My hobby/business of creating websites for businesses and organisations is growing. I run my own personal blog, this site, my business website, along with about six other sites for clients. I am the webguru for the Tasmanian Pagan Alliance website, the Graphic Designer of their newsletter and, more recently, the Treasurer of the organisation. And I have a new house to renovate!

So whilst I love this site and the podcast – and don’t get me wrong, I really love doing it! – it’s not supporting my day-to-day life, and I cannot continue to place it high on my list of priorities. Not to mention the low amount of traffic this site has been receiving of late – my last Google Analytics report on Tuesday showed one visit for the whole week.

I want to thank everyone for their continued support over the last 2 + years for supporting the Podcast – it’s been a lot of fun and I’ve got to know some wonderful people thought the doors this has opened. But it’s time to close this chapter of my life, and I hope you continue to support the website, and feel free to contact me as you feel you need to – I am still catching up on many, many emails (again, a time issue), but I will respond to every email I get.

Well just a quick update to say that the Geek Witch podcasts’ presence on Facebook has moved from a Group to a Page. A Page will allow us a little more versatility and allow me to get more of an idea how often the Facebook Page is being used, where a Group doesn’t allow me to do that.

Sorry that the episode hasn’t been released yet. I’ve been lacking motivation severely lately, and a few things have cropped up lately that have taken priority.

Number one is that our neighbours are giving us the shits. I’m not going to go into it too deeply, but essentially a single mum and her son live in the unit behind ours, and the son hangs around with… how do I say… “undignified” types. One is a criminal, son of a criminal, and another is a known troublemaker around town. So we’ve been trying to do what we can so that these kids aren’t hanging around our house.

Secondly, my mum went into hospital last night with a severe attack of back spasms – she can’t move easily, and can barely walk at all. So I’ve been at the hospital and helping my dad out around home/town.

So I apologise, but for once I think I have a decent excuse. The episode will be out, it’s just a matter of when.

In light of recent emails (about 5 of them in the last week, from presumably different people), I have resorted to making this post, as it’s obvious that my message isn’t getting through to these people.

I do not give out or share spells. This goes for my own spells, as well as sharing from any books I may have. I do not believe in sharing spells. Spells are very personal things – I feel it’s very important that spells are written by and for the use of one person, because something that works for one person may not work for another (and definitely won’t work for another in the exact same way). My opinion on this topic will not change for anyone. There is no bias here – I will not share at all.

I hate to sound rude and obnoxious, because that’s definitely not how I’m trying to sound, but in response to all the requests I’ve had lately, it’s had to come down to making a strong public announcement regarding my stance on this subject.

Write your own spells. They will be much stronger than anything you ever get from another person, and because you’ve written it yourself, your personal intent for the outcome is embedded in the words on the page.

Finally, I strongly advise against spells that have some sort of ‘revenge’ concept, or that try to bend someone’s freewill. Try looking at the situation from a different angle, and try to see what you might be able to do that can help the situation, rather than hurt someone. Instead of trying to make someone fall in love with you, do a spell to attract love. Instead of trying to ‘get back’ at someone, try a spell to help make you stronger and deal with the situation at hand. There’s always another point of view.
In relation to this, as well – I also believe in spells being a last resort. Make sure that you’ve done everything in your mundane power before turning to a more spiritual, metaphysical source.

I’m so sorry to all my listeners and my subscribers. I feel pathetic, but to be completely honest, time really has gotten away from me. I work from 9:00am to 5:30pm, five days a week. So between the hours of 7:30am and about 7pm, I am out of action, and then I’m generally in bed by about 10:30pm, which doesn’t leave a lot of time for recording, particularly when I prefer to be in the house alone with my thoughts.

I know it’s a lame excuse, but I know you’ll all understand.

The next episode – please don’t expect it until at least January. I have an extra week off work to my husband, so I’ll have a little more time that week to get another episode together.

I also want to apologise to all those who’ve tried contacting me via email. I appreciate your emails and I DO read them – but, again, I just don’t have a lot of time to sit down and think out a response for a lot of them. Rest assured I will respond, just not for a while yet. Because of this, PLEASE don’t email me with urgent matters.

Also, in regards to correspondence, please don’t email me asking for spells – I don’t really believe in using another person’s spell, even if it worked for them, so I don’t want to advocate that. The best result will come from a spell that you’ve personally invested yourself in, which means writing it yourself, preparing items you’ll use (if any) and carrying it out yourself.

Well I know it’s been way too long. I just wanted to let you know that I have not pod-faded!!! I’m merely taking a hiatus from podcasting. I hope to end this hiatus on Saturday, but we’ll see what happens.

On the topic of ‘podfading’, I just wanted to say that I will never just up-and-disappear without letting you guys know. If I quit, I’ll make a recording and put it on the RSS feed. I want everyone to have full disclosure about what’s happening with the show.

On another point, I wanted to thank everyone who’s emailed me and donated money towards the show over the last few months. The response I continue to get is phenomenal, and I appreciate every single one of you. I also appreciate your patience in my getting back to you, as I know I can appear to be tardy in that as well – but I’ve received so many great emails, and I will get stuck into responding to them all shortly.
